Marking Period 1 Grades

Clifford Wise Intermediate School

A note from Mrs. Stearns

Our first marking period has ended and we are excited to share your child's first report card with you. Please read below for more information on how you can partner with your child's teacher(s) to support your child's academic progress.

Parents are encouraged to ask questions about their child's grades, progress, and goals during parent-teacher conferences.

Report cards will be sent via ParentSquare today and shared at Parent-Teacher conferences on Monday 11/10.

Those parents in grades 3-5 who are participating in a phone conference will receive information in their child's folder today.

All 6th graders have an envelope with more information coming home with them today.

Understanding Standards Based Grading

Growth is the goal!

Standards Based Grading Scale

Talking to your child about their grades

Wondering how to talk with your child about their progress?

At parent conferences, parents will receive a reflection sheet they can review with their child and discuss specifics about their report card. Take time to go over the questions, write down their answers (or have your child), and post the reflection sheet somewhere visible in your home.

This can serve as a reminder about their goals for the 2nd marking period.

Families who send back a picture of their child's completed reflection posted in your home will be entered into a raffle to win a four pack of tickets to Niagara Kraze.

Copies will be sent to families who do not attend in person conferences.

Grade Level Expectations

Parents often want to know if their child's skills are on grade level and what a child at that grade level should know and be working on.

We have put together Grade Level Expectations for parents and caregivers to learn what is expected at each grade level.
